The condo

Your basecamp in the pines

A hand-built condo in the pines on the Canyon Lodge side of Mammoth Lakes: vaulted wood ceilings, a stone fireplace, and a private covered deck facing the Sherwin Range. Sleeps 8 across two king suites, a bunk room, and a sleeping loft — with 3 full baths, a granite-and-stainless kitchen, and in-unit laundry. Your Eastern Sierra basecamp, every season.

  • Wood-burning stone fireplace
  • Private covered deck with Sherwin Range views
  • Sleeps 8 across two king suites, a bunk room, and a loft
  • 3 full bathrooms
  • Both king bedrooms open onto the deck
  • Granite-and-stainless full kitchen
  • In-unit washer & dryer
  • Forest setting on the Canyon Lodge side of town
  • Year-round Eastern Sierra basecamp

The space

Step through the door and the great room opens up around you — vaulted wood ceilings, a river-rock fireplace with a wood-burning stove, and windows that pull the pines inside. The dining table seats six under the loft stair, three more can pull up to the live-edge granite breakfast bar, and the kitchen behind it comes fully equipped: granite counters, stainless appliances, a dishwasher, and every pot, pan, and wine glass a group dinner needs.

Winter at Mountainback 9

Mammoth winters are the stuff of legend — Pacific storms bury the town in some of the deepest snowpack in North America, and the season regularly stretches from November into late spring. Mountainback sits on the Canyon Lodge side of town, minutes from the lifts. Come home from the mountain, hang your gear, and let the wood stove do the rest: dinner at the big table, a game at the bar, and the alpenglow show on the Sherwins from the covered deck.

Summer & fall in the Eastern Sierra

When the snow melts, Mammoth becomes a different kind of paradise. The Lakes Basin's string of alpine lakes is minutes away for paddling, fishing, and shoreline trails. Ride the town's bike-path system, hike to Devils Postpile and Rainbow Falls, day-trip the June Lake Loop, or just take coffee on the deck while the forest wakes up. Come October, the aspen canyons turn gold and the crowds thin — ask any local about their favorite season.

Sleeping arrangements

  • Master suite — log-frame king, TV, and its own slider to the deck
  • Second king bedroom — wall-mounted TV and private deck access
  • Bunk room — bunk bed plus a full bed, a permanent kid favorite
  • Sleeping loft — log bunk, TV, and its own bathroom

Eight guests spread out across four separate sleeping spaces and three full bathrooms — including a double granite vanity and a walk-in slate shower — so mornings never bottleneck.

The deck & the view

The covered deck runs off the living room with bar-height seating and a straight shot at the Sherwin Range over the treetops. Morning coffee in the quiet, an afternoon drink after the trail, and the peaks going pink at dusk — this is where the condo earns its keep. Both king bedrooms open directly onto it.
